Message from Mr. Dower

Dear Families,

I hope you have all had a happy and relaxing break - the sunshine definitely helped! It is great that school life is continuing to get back to normality and a huge thanks to the FABs and staff for putting on a great KS1 disco. KS2 have theirs this week - grab some tickets via parent pay if you haven't already. It was also lovely to invite families back in to meet with the teachers before Easter.

Excitingly, this week we are launching our Instagram account, so please check us out on Instagram at benfield_primary. We hope to share some of the fantastic things that are happening in our school and some tips for helping with your child's education.

Just a reminder that the Brighton Children's Parade is Saturday 7th May 2022 - please come and watch if you are able, it is a great morning out!

Enjoy the sun this weekend!

Best Wishes,

Drew Dower

REPTILIAN VISITORS

This week Year 1 and 2 had a visit from Reptylers. The children met a range of different animals including Mr Marmite the snake, two cute little crested geckos and a very large python! We loved finding out lots of information about the animals and it was a wonderful experience to handle the creatures ourselves. The children were very brave.

Quotes

"I loved the toad, it ate the worms and he was super cool." (Siyana, Year 1)

"I like the big snake because it was huge and smooth. It was putting its tongue out." (Ryan, Year 1)

"I like the big snake because it had a white and yellow pattern." (Royem, Year 1)

"I like how the snake went on my legs." (Bella, Year 1)

"The geckos felt so soft." (Imogen, Year 1)

Healthy Snacks

Children in the infants   are provided with a                      free fruit or vegetable snack.

Children in the juniors are welcome to bring a piece of fruit or vegetables from home – not nuts. This should be taken to the classroom, not left in their lunchbox.

Please can all children bring in a water bottle to fill from the tap. Squash and juice are not permitted except at lunch times.

We are a nut free school so can you please ensure that your child has no food containing nuts in their lunch box as we currently have pupils in school with a severe nut allergy.
